Home of the Chicken Pie - Maggies Farm

A trip out to Harties on the R512, just wouldn't be the same without stopping at "The Home of the Chicken Pie" on the way there or on the way back. Grabbing a cup of coffee before we leave home is about the most we do, so after the 40 odd minutes it takes for us to get to Maggies Farm, we are starving.

The plus is that at this time of the morning they haven’t got busy yet, so no queues for pies, tables etc. It's best to go and order your pies as a takeaway, pay and find a place to sit in the garden. This way you get to eat a whole lot faster and no waiting!

We have always found the pies to have loads of chicken in them, unlike most chicken pies that have more gravy and a few bits of chicken floating somewhere in-between.

Its well worth browsing around the antique shop for bargains, the beading and wirework that stretching over the paving is just fabulous. Aren't these tails wonderful!

Wakaberry

The thought of a huge bowl of creamy frozen yoghurt with loads of toppings is rather quite appealing to the taste buds.  And such is the amazing hit of Wakeberry's store in "The Zone", Rosebank

The store in The Zone opened a few weeks before Christmas last year and I have to admit we have made several trips to try out the different flavours.  Do try the Rainforest Pomegranate, Cinnamon hot chocolate, Mint, Peanut butter, kiwi, Red velvet cake....YUM!  It's all 100% real frozen yoghurt and is 98% fat free!

We were lucky enough to be invited to the opening at "The Zone" here are some pics of the event as well as some from this year. Do enjoy......
