So this weekend is the first ever Pick n Pay Taste of Christmas event in Jozi. Three whole days of eating, drinking and holiday shopping. We made our way there today in the late morning, just in time for lunch! And we were blown away.
Our first stop was at Chlo Lo and it wasn't long before some of their huge meringues found a way into our shopping bags. And that cheesecake! Wow!
Kuhestan Organic Farms gave us a demonstration on mixing their cordials and with names such as Lime, Rose and Raspberry, Blue Berry and many others, who can resist.
The heat in Jozi has been creeping up these last few days, and my daughter has been craving ice cream, but she has a dairy allergy (amongst other) and has been climbing the walls in longing. She notices every individual out there that has a ice cream cone, where I don't even see them. But, hey! Bingo! Arte Gelato has a dairy free range made from Lupino beans. It wasn't long before she was happily munching on a cup of their hazelnut gelato.
And then for cheese, who doesn't love cheese! There were stands of cheese everywhere but Gorgi Gorgiev from the Flavourex Cheese Factory Goats cheese is outstanding.
